Shawna B, Senior

Shawna and I have been friends since we were in about 3rd grade! She's always been the nicest person to me, and she's always been a great friend. When she called to schedule a session, I knew right then it would be super fun! She has one of the best personalities ever, and it was so easy to photograph her! We spent most of the day together on her session, going place to place, and laughing at the random things we did. From sitting on the benches at Linn Park with people staring at her and taking videos with their cell phones of us, to standing in the streets of downtown Birmingham hoping we wouldn't get ran over in the process. Shawna is a cheerleader, and a great one at that! We spent probably a good 20 minutes at the football field taking her cheerleading pictures. I love taking people to the home field, it makes such a big difference! Her session was one of the most fun, and I'm so glad she decided to go the places we did. Thank you Shawna for letting me capture these memories for you! You are awesome!

MUSHography.

When my boss asked me to photograph all of the HTHS Varsity football games this year, I definitely hesitated to give him an answer. After saying yes, I told my mom, "I can't stay down there the whole game...it's MY senior year. I will only stay down there the first half." I wanted to spend my Senior year in the Dog Pound, which is Hewitt's student section. When the first game came against Gardendale, the game was pretty close, and I'd already been down on the sidelines 3 quarters, and I went up and talked to my mom in the stands, and told her I didn't want to go back down there. Long story short, she told me to go back down to the sidelines since it was such a close game. I sighed, and went back down to the sidelines. After being down there for about 15 minutes, I grew to kind of like the excitement. Hewitt was on offense, and I knew that I would get a pretty good picture if someone would just run the ball. Well, I guess I should've been ready for the run to come right to me, because that's exactly what it did. I got tackled, in front of everyone. All I could do when I got up was brush myself off, and make sure my camera was okay. For the next four months, I never once stepped foot in the student section, and I've never had so much fun at football games. I never knew I'd love photographing these guys so much, but it definitely made my Senior year the best yet! I love these guys, and I'm so happy to be the "MUSHographer." Thanks to all of the guys for welcoming me into the family.
